Exciting discussions are underway at ChemCentre and the CSIRO. We recently came together for the 2025 Annual Workshop—an exciting initiative set to continue into the future.
Over two days, the workshop brought together experts in areas including Environment, Minerals, and Energy to explore research strengths, identify synergies, and develop new opportunities for joint research and development (R&D).
ChemCentre Chief Executive Officer Paul Nicholls said strengthening partnerships with key research institutions and industry leaders through a series of collaborative workshops led by ChemCentre is a key priority.
“These collaborations will not only drive innovation but also hopefully assist with creating new business opportunities as we explore emerging possibilities,” Mr Nicholls said.
As Western Australia’s leading provider of chemical and forensic science services, ChemCentre plays a key role in supporting industry, government, and research collaborations. Coupled with CSIRO’s world-leading research capability, this workshop will help to identify new opportunities to drive community safety and economic development in Western Australia and nationally.
The two-day workshop was coordinated by ChemCentre Manager of Research and Innovation, Dr John Moursounidis, who emphasised the importance of these annual events in building mutual understanding and uncovering joint R&D opportunities.
“These workshops provide a valuable platform to align our research strengths and explore areas where we can work together for greater impact,” Dr Moursounidis said.
The workshop also builds on recent productive discussions with the Department of Transport, Westport, and the Western Australian Marine Science Institute (WAMSI) Board.
“I look forward to seeing how these collaborations continue to evolve,” he added.
